Today, June 17, 2015, Center for Veterans Issues and Cardinal Capital Management host a grand opening event for what could become a nationally recognized standard for veterans housing. Major General Jacob Brown Veterans Manor is located at 901 South St. Anthony Drive in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The project provides 50 units of affordable, supportive housing to low-income veterans.
The housing project is named to honor the memory of the late Major General Jacob Brown who Brown County is named after, and who was known as the most successful battle commander of the War of 1812 after he won four of the nine American victories in the war. His achievements earned him the Congressional Gold Medal and the status as a National Hero.
Many city and county officials, veterans and supporters have gathered on the property’s site, where the grand opening is taking place, to celebrate and tour Major General Jacob Brown Veterans Manor.
