Cardinal Capital is pleased to announce that Major General Jacob Brown Green Bay Veterans Manor has been selected by the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition panel of judges to receive an Honorable Mention certificate in the Special Needs Housing category for the 2016 Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Excellence Awards competition.
Major General Jacob Brown Veterans Manor is a collaboration between Center for Veterans Issues (CVI) and Cardinal Capital. Located on Green Bay’s northeast side, the project offers 50 one-bedroom apartments to low-income veterans. The building’s amenities include a community room with a full kitchen, fitness center and computer lab. Internet and all utilities are include in the monthly rent. On-site supportive services are provided by CVI and there is an on-site management office. Major General Jacob Brown Veterans Manor has a bus stop at the site and is located just a few blocks away from the VA Clinic.
The majority of this development was funded through the sale of tax credits granted through the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority. Other funding was received from the Affordable Housing Program, Home Depot and the Redevelopment Authority.
