Dustin Eckhardt, a gifted artist from Rockford, IL, is known for showcasing vibrant colors and clean illustrative line work that explores themes of nature, curiosity, introspection, and more. His distinctive style can be found at various locations in his hometown of Rockford and across the Midwest.
The Middleton Market mural stands as a testament to Eckhardt’s remarkable talent and dedication to celebrating the local environment. As visitors and passersby are greeted by the impressive artwork, they are encouraged to immerse themselves in the richness of nature.

The Middleton Market mural was installed on January 8, 2024 and consists of 16 separate panels that were painted individually by Dustin in his art studio. Inspired by flora found at the nearby Pheasant Branch Conservancy, the mural is a celebration of the natural world and an embodiment of the Market’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and inviting atmosphere.
